Longtime Hinsdale South Teachers, Coaches Among D86's 2013 Retirees

Two longtime English teachers and two longtime coaches were among the eight retiring Hinsdale South certified staff and educational support personnel recognized by the District 86 Board of Education at its May 20 meeting.

Nancy Olsen and Pamela Baker are retiring this spring after teaching English for 35 years and 32 years, respectively, while director of deans and boys wrestling head coach Michael Matozzi is calling it quits after 33 years serving District 86, and physical education teacher and boys swimming head coach Frank Kuchta is hanging it up after 28 years.

All of the District 86 retirees are listed below.

"It’s been a great experience and at no time did I ever regret getting up at 4:50 in the morning to start morning practices," Kuchta said. "It’s hard to leave this wonderful place. Thank you for the experience."

Matozzi said working at Hinsdale South has been "the best of experiences any educator could hope for." He credited his wife, three kids, and son-in-law for supporting him through the years.

"Hinsdale South has been a family for me, but that doesn’t happen without a true family," Matozzi said.
