Man Faces Drug Charge

Jose M. Torres, 21, of the 5400 block of South Narragansett Avenue, Chicago, was arrested at 2:53 a.m. at Route 83 and Central. He was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance after a white powder found in his 1992 Toyota field-tested positive for cocaine, according to police. Torres was initially stopped for driving with only one headlight. He was transported to the DuPage County Jail and was later released.

Police Blotter information is provided by local law enforcement agencies. Charges are not evidence of guilt. They are a record of police actions taken on a given day, and persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court. If you or a family member are charged or cited and the case is subsequently adjudicated, we encourage you to notify the editor. We will verify and report the outcome.
