Concerts on the Green

Berthold Auerbach, a famous author and poet, once
said that “music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.”  Perhaps that’s why the Burr Ridge summer
concerts have grown to what is arguably the biggest event of its kind in the Western Suburbs.  Dubbed by regulars as a “mini-Ravinia without the ticket price”, the popular Burr Ridge “Concerts on the Green” return every Friday, June through August, from 7:30-9:00 p.m. at the Burr Ridge Village Center.  The concerts and parking are free to attend and are held weather permitting.

This year’s concerts are presented by the Burr Ridge
Hotels and all entertainment costs have been underwritten through generous donations by the local business community.

The Village of Burr Ridge has once again proudly
partnered with the Burr Ridge Park District to host this popular family-friendly event.  All concerts will be held on the “Village Green” at the north end of the Village Center.  Quality acts include:

The event began in 2008 with approximately 200 guests in attendance at what began as a three week series.  Since that time it has grown to 13 weeks with attendance averaging 1,400+ guests each week.  To accommodate the larger crowd the Village upgraded the event tent in 2012.

This year they will be bringing in an air-conditioned restroom trailer, raised concert stage and upgraded sound and stage lighting system.  In order to accommodate
emergency personnel and improve public safety, the Village will also install a safety aisle on each side of the Village Green. The area will be marked clearly and Police are asking that this aisle be kept clear of guests and their belongings.

Guests can purchase alcoholic beverages from the Wok N Fire tent on site or bring their own, however, they are asked to consume in moderation.  Alcohol is only permitted on the Village Green.  Guests are also welcome to bring food or take advantage of the concert night carry-out specials from one of the many Burr Ridge restaurants (visit BurrRidgeRestaurants.com for more information closer to the start date of the concerts).
