Jewelry Stolen During Ruse-Entry Burglary: Police Blotter

Burr Ridge police reports, May 4-5

SUNDAY, MAY 5

Warrant Arrest

Eric Hagan, 53, of the 9800 block of South Maryland Avenue, Chicago, was arrested at 8:54 p.m on County Line Road at I-55. He was charged with driving while license suspended and taken in on an warrant arrest out of Alexander County. Hagan could not post bond, so he was transported to the DuPage County Jail for a bond hearing.

Sex Offender Registration

Glenn Lange, of the 16w300 block of 94th Place, Burr Ridge, came to the Burr Ridge police station, 7700 South County Line Road, at 10:30 a.m. to renew his sex offender registration. Burr Ridge has a relatively small amount of registered sex offenders, compared to other Chicago-area suburbs.

License Expired, One Taillight

The driver of a 2002 Pontiac was cited at 1:30 a.m. for one tail light and for driving while license expired at Route 83 and Honeysuckle Rose, police said.

Jewelry Stolen

A resident reported several pieces of jewelry missing from a home on the 16W300 block of 95th Place. The resident said it might have happened during a ruse-entry scam in which an unknown man came to her home on May 3.

The woman went out into the backyard with him and locked the front door. She thinks while a second person went into the home and took the jewelry while she was distracted. The incident is under investigation, police said.
