April Home Sales: Burr Ridge Experiences Drop in Sales, Prices

In April, Burr Ridge continued to experience declines in home sales and sales prices, according to the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors.

The 9 single, detached homes sold in Burr Ridge during April 2013 represented a -18.2 percent decline over April 2012, when 11 homes were sold, according to the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors (MORe). There were 15 homes sold in Burr Ridge during March.  The number of homes sold and the median home price both decreased in April in Burr Ridge. The median price dropped -16.9 percent to $487,700 from $587,000 in April 2012. Sales of single-family, detached homes in suburban Chicago increased 33.2 percent in April 2013 compared with the same period a year ago, MORe reported. Sales in DuPage County, were notable, as well. HGTV's 'House Hunters' Comes to Hinsdale

A Chicago couple looking for their suburban dream home in Hinsdale will be featured on the May 21 episode of 'House Hunters' on HGTV.

Hinsdale residents who watch HGTV will likely see some familiar sites on the cable channel next week. The May 21 episode of House Hunters will feature couple Amanda and Carl Ivanelli looking at and choosing from three Hinsdale homes, according to the show's website. "Our episode on House Hunters will show off lots of Hinsdale's beautiful sights as well as feature some restaurants," Amanda Ivanelli wrote in an email to Patch. "We decide between three homes in Hinsdale and talk a lot about the community!" Amanda said the filming took place over five days last November.
