Don’t Do Turkey? No problem.

Local restaurants and 5k runs offer alternatives to the traditional Thanksgiving celebration.

If you don't cook turkey or feel like gorging yourself with the cornucopia of harvest calories while watching football, Patch found – count it – four local restaurants that will be open for Thanksgiving. We also found two 5k runs to jumpstart your metabolism before the feasting begins. Topaz Cafe Topaz Café, at 780 Burr Ridge Center Dr. in Burr Ridge, will fix up a Thanksgiving buffet tomorrow from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The spread includes some traditional Thanksgiving dishes like turkey and potatoes and a few extras including tilapia, a salad bar and mac and cheese.
