Burr Ridge police reports, March 14-15
FRIDAY, MARCH 15 Reports say a complainant told police at 8:49 a.m. that his vehicle had been stolen while it was parked outside a business in the 15W100 block of South Frontage Road, but officers discovered it had actually been repossessed. THURSDAY, MARCH 14 Police said someone struck a parked Dodge truck in the 8400 block of Savoy Club Court with their car at 9:55 a.m. and left without leaving insurance information. A business from the 16W400 block of South Frontage Road reported to police at 9 a.m. that someone used the business' account information on three cashed checks, police said. SUNDAY, DEC. 16 A complainant reported at 9:34 a.m. that someone hit the rear of the complainant's car near the intersection of County Line Road and Burr Ridge Parkway and fled the scene, police said. No description of the driver or his or her plate number were supplied to police. FRIDAY, DEC. 14 Stan Sheputis, 52, of the 1000 block of Essington Road, Romeoville, was charged with driving on a suspended license and registration, obstructing identification, improper use of registration, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle during a traffic stop in the 300 block of Burr Ridge Parkway at 2:16 p.m., police said. Burr Ridge police reports, Oct. 31-Nov. 6.
SUNDAY, NOV. 4 A resident from the 8100 block of Steepleside Drive was given a warning for open burning after an officer located a brush fire on the property around 3:39 p.m. and was unable to contact the resident. Pleasantview Fire Protection District extinguished the fire, which the resident later said was meant to burn poison oak. Someone used a tire iron to pry open the door to a Coca-Cola vending machine at the Pleasantdale Park District offices, 7425 Wolf Rd., police learned at 8:29 a.m. Police said a tire iron was found near the machine. TUESDAY, OCT. 9 David F. Shutack, 60, of the 300 block of west 59th Street, Hinsdale, was stopped by Burr Ridge Police near the intersection of County Line and Plainfield roads at 4:43 p.m. and charged with leaving the scene of an accident and driving on a suspended license after officers said he was involved in an earlier hit-and-run accident in Hinsdale. MONDAY, SEPT. 17 Armando Rodriguez, 38, of the 4800 block of south Keating Avenue, Chicago, was charged with theft after he admitted stealing a phone that belonged to a victim from the 400 block of north Monroe Street who had reported the theft, which took place at a gas station in Willowbrook, at 9:06 a.m. Sept. 17. Rodriguez was arrested in Willowbrook with the phone after the phone’s tracking software was used to locate it. He was released to appear in court. A Burr Ridge man was arrested in Hinsdale for driving under the influence and for fleeing the scene of an accident.
On Feb. 20 at 9:58 p.m. Hinsdale Police arrested Joseph P. Yopp, 41, of 708 Tomlin Dr. in Burr Ridge for driving under the influence, driving under the influence over .08 and for leaving the scene of an accident after he was involved in a car accident near 55th Street and County Line Road in Hinsdale. Due to the demonstrated severity of his impairment, a sobriety test was not administered, according to Hinsdale Police records.
