Burr Ridge police reports, May 3
The driver of a 1999 Audi crashed into the front of the Burr Ridge Life Time Fitness earlier this month, police said. The 71-year-old driver was attempting to leave when the Audi suddenly accelerated from a parked position, according to a police report. The incident occurred at 9:19 a.m. May 3 at the fitness facility, located on the 600 block of Burr Ridge Parkway. The Audi had to be towed from the scene, but there were no injuries reported. Life Time Fitness did not immediately provide police with a damage estimate. The police report for this incident also did not indicate whether the business had to temporarily close as a result of the incident. Updated at 12:02 p.m. A 21-year-old man who was hit by a car while crossing Ogden Avenue near Route 83 Monday morning was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening, Westmont Fire Department administrative director Craig Skala said. "He was talking with our paramedics," Skala said. Two people were critically injured in the car accident, which occurred Wednesday afternoon.
One person was killed and two more were in critical condition following a car accident Wednesday afternoon in an area of unincorporated Lemont bordering Burr Ridge. ABC News reports that the crash took place south of Bluff Road on southbound Route 83. According to ABC, two people were driving in a sedan, and one was killed. The Chicago Tribune is reporting that the person who died was a passenger in one of two vehicles involved. Route 83 in the vicinity of the accident remained closed as of 7 p.m. following a two-vehicle accident that occurred at about 3 p.m. Wednesday. Read the ABC news report here. Four of the teens had "incapacitating" injuries Friday night, according to police officials.
Updated at 6:14 p.m. Seven teens were transported to area hospitals Friday night after the SUV they were in reportedly rolled over and hit a tree and utility pole near the intersection of Park and 4th streets in Hinsdale, Hinsdale Police Department and Hinsdale Fire Department officials said Monday. MONDAY, JUNE 25 At about 6:04 p.m. a Dodge struck a Ford in the intersection of Madison and 79th streets. Although injuries were reported, all parties refused treatment. At 7:55 a.m., a Lexus struck the side of a Jaguar at the intersection of 83rd and Madison streets. The people in the Jaguar were transported to Adventist Hinsdale Hospital for evaluation. One of the cars skidded into two other cars parked in driveways along the street.
Updated June 29 An eastbound SUV skidded while attempting to stop on Plainfield Road west of Route 83 Friday afternoon, striking a westbound car before sliding into two other cars parked in driveways along the street, Darien Police said. One driver appeared to have hurt his arm, but witness Mario Rodriguez said there didn't look to be any serious injuries. "Everything is fine," he said. Rodriguez was watching TV when he heard a loud noise. He called 911 after seeing that the vehicles had slid into both his and a neighbor's car. Tri-State Fire Protection District personnel had the accident cleared by about 2:15 p.m. The district was unable to be immediately reached for further information.

Fire personnel say accident was apparent head-on collision.
4:28 p.m. All three people involved in Wednesday morning's crash on the Darien-Willowbrook border sustained "serious personal injuries," said Willowbrook Deputy Police Chief Paul Oggerino. At one point, he said there was a report of a fatality that later proved to be false. No other information on the victims' conditions is available. I have heard that even if you are passenger in a car with a driver that violates the passenger limit law; you too are also in trouble as a passenger; to a lesser extent...anyone have that info?   more ›
