Tillie is a 4-year-old domestic medium hair mix looking for a forever home.
Name: Tillie Breed: Domestic medium hair mix Sex: Female Age: 4 years Spayed/Neutered: Yes Personality: Volunteers at the West Suburban Humane Society describe Tillie as a puzzle because she is tough to figure out. She does OK with some cats, but not others; any cat she lives with must have a backbone. Tillie is best-suited for families with older kids because she likes to pounce and play. She needs a family who wants to play and keep her entertained. Interested? Stop by the West Suburban Humane Society at 1901 W. Ogden Ave., Downers Grove, or call 630-960-9600.

Marchex Institute says Illinois residents are among the worst offenders in the country when it comes to swear words, though we are pretty courteous with 'please' and 'thank you.'

The following items and postings were found on Craigslist for the Burr Ridge, Darien, Downers Grove, Hinsdale, Clarendon Hills and Lemont area. Note: Patch has no control over the status of these posts on Craigslist and how long they remain available. If “Game of Thrones” had been conceived by Wayne Gretsky, the seat of the Seven Kingdoms might look something like this chair, going for $350 out of Burr Ridge. The frame is almost entirely made of hockey sticks, with pucks for the base. A perfect chair from which to cheer on the Blackhawks (go Hawks!) This unorthodox coffee table from a Darien seller might look misshapen, but it’s carved from a single California redwood and is seriously huge—status symbol extraordinaire. (For some reason, in…

A resident then saw the woman scale the balconies to get to her old apartment on the third floor, but she was not able to gain entry, police said. CLARENDON HILLS An apartment tenant on the 200 block of North Richmond Avenue wrote in magic marker on his door that "any trespassers will be shot," according to a police report. Go to a wedding, a sporting event, a picnic, or any other social event and it is not to difficult to find many decent and hardworking people who might meet the legal …   more ›
