The beautiful white-brick structure of Saint Mark Coptic Church sits beyond the decorated steel gates off 79th Street. The congregation includes more than 300 Egyptian families from all over the Chicago area as well southern Wisconsin and northern Indiana. The Divine Liturgy at St. Mark, and any other Coptic churches around the world, is served in the same way as their ancestors did back in the second and third centuries. The church also has a Montessori preschool for children ages six weeks to six years.
