Hinsdale Central Teen Enters Kart Race to Help Homeless [VIDEO]

For the second year in a row, Frank Siracusa, Jr. will take part in a six-hour kart race to raise money for DuPage County PADS.

Last year, Frank Siracusa, Jr. helped raise $1,200 for DuPage County PADS, a non-profit organization that has been helping to fight homelessness in DuPage County for 25 years. This year, he hopes to top that number.

For a second year, the junior, will take part in the six-hour endurance kart race at the Chicago Indoor Racing facility in Addison on Sunday.

Siracusa has been racing karts competitively since 2005 and has recently begun to transition to racing cars.

The goal of the "Drive for 55" fundraiser is to raise $55,000 for DuPage County PADS. Last year's race raised $50,000 for the cause, which the executive director of the organization called "a tremendous, tremendous gift."

The teen is using social media to get the word out about the race, advertising it on his Facebook racing page and asking people to help the cause through making a donation on the team's page.

Siracusa's team this year is called the BonZai Board. The team's goal is to raise $5,000 for PADS, and the team's page says it already has raised $3,875 for the cause, more than three times what .
