The following is a release from FedEx and the Hanson Center:
FedEx team members from the Chicagoland area, along with the local United Way, are volunteering to assist the Ray Graham Association (RGA) with cleanup and maintenance at its Hanson Center location, one of RGA’s seven community learning centers for adults with disabilities and recreational programs for children and adults with and without disabilities.
Over 63 FedEx employees will participate in several tasks that will improve not only the landscaping but will provide safe riding areas for the horses and program participants that partake in the Hanson Center’s Therapeutic Horsemanship Program. Responsibilities will include painting, raking the horse arena, cleaning the horse tack, spreading crushed limestone along the bridle paths and planting flowers.
The Ray Graham Association empowers nearly 2,000 children and adults with primarily intellectual and development disabilities throughout DuPage County and the surrounding area.
During the week of September 10, more than 4,000 FedEx team members from around the world will volunteer and participate in over 20,000 hours of local community service activities as part of the eighth annual FedEx Cares Week.
FedEx Cares Week celebrates the spirit of volunteerism, collaboration and community at FedEx.
FedEx Cares Week serves as a formal kick-off for the annual FedEx United Way campaign, in addition to providing an opportunity for FedEx team members to give back to the communities they serve.
