The Hinsdale Central and Hinsdale South girls volleyball teams will play for the Riverside-Brookfield Sectional Title Thursday night after each team won three straight matches during the last nine days.
Hinsdale South, the sectional's No. 1 seed, defeated Oak Lawn (25-10, 26-24) in the sectional semifinal Tuesday after beating Argo (25-9, 25-7) and Riverside-Brookfield (25-27, 25-10, 25-23) in regional play on Oct. 23 and Oct. 25.
Hinsdale Central, meanwhile, topped No. 2 seed St. Ignatius Tuesday (25-22, 18-25, 25-21) in the semifinal after wins over Reavis (25-10, 25-19) and No. 3 seed Whitney Young (9-25, 25-11, 25-22) in the regional they hosted last week.
The Red Devils are the No. 6 seed in the Riverside-Brookfield Sectional.
Hinsdale South beat Hinsdale Central (25-19, 23-25, 25-15) on Oct. 16, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
The winner of Thursday's 7 p.m. match at Riverside-Brookfield High School, 160 Ridgewood Rd. in Riverside, will be among the eight remaining 4A teams that move on to the Super Sectional and will face the winner of Alonzo Stagg and Mother McAuley Saturday afternoon at Mother McAuley.
