Today Is the Last Day To Apply For Vacant Seat on Pleasantdale School Board

The District 107 Board will hold a special meeting on Oct. 6 to interview the candidates in closed session.

Today is the last day for residents to submit a letter of interest and application for the vacant seat on the school board. The new member will fill the seat being vacated by Patti Essig until the school board election in April of 2013.

To apply, candidates should submit a letter of interest and a candidate form to the school board by the close of business on Oct. 3.

Candidate forms are available for download from the district's website or by calling the district office at (708) 784-2013. All applicants must be residents of District 107 and over 18 years old in order to be considered.

A special meeting will be held Thursday, October 6 at 6:15 p.m., to interview the applicants. The meeting will be held in closed session, so community members and media will not be allowed to sit in on the interviews.

At this time, three people have applied for the seat, including former board member Rick Rigley who left the board last April.

The board is expected to appoint the new member by Oct. 19.
