Indian Prairie To Host Program Resources For Seniors

The will host a “Local Senior Resources” program conducted by Hannah Benioff, Senior Services Coordinator for Downers Grove Township on Wednesday, Jan. 11 at 1 p.m.

The program will include information on many free or reduced-price services for seniors including the “File of Life” emergency medical information kits to help police and emergency response teams have instant access to medical information. 

Benioff will also discuss a home inspection program that provides senior citizens with a free inspection of their homes by trained professionals who recommend simple guidelines for home safety and security.  Other services to be covered in the program are Dial A Ride, cable TV programs, advanced directives, and financial programs such as the circuit breaker program, medication discounts and tax deferrals.

This program is being held at the suggestion of the 55+ Council, an advisory group of seniors at the library.           The program is free and open to the public. Registration is required and may be done in person at the Ask Us Desk of the library, by calling 630/887-8760 ext. 239, or online at calendar.ippl.info.

Individuals who require an accommodation for a disability for any library program should contact the library at least five days before the program. The Indian Prairie Public Library, at 401 Plainfield Road in Darien, serves Willowbrook, Darien and Burr Ridge. Information about this program and other library services can be found at ippl.info.
