HINSDALE – The has Dist. 181 Board of Education called a special meeting at 5 p.m. Friday at Elm School in Burr Ridge for the purpose of approving the hiring of the new superintendent.
District 181 School Board President Marty Turek said in a letter that a "meet and greet" event will take place in the future.
In February, Superintendent Renee Schuster was released from her contract at her request.
Schuster cited family commitments as the reason for submitting her resignation, which comes one year prior to the end of her contract.
“It was a very hard decision,” she told the board. "But family is always first. This is a great community and we have great students, great teachers and great leaders."
The assistant superintendent resigned in March to take a position in Chicago Ridge, reports the Chicago Tribune.
