Burr Ridge resident Barbara Bellar won the March 20 primary with 74 percent of the vote. She will go on to face Bill Cunningham for the second time in two years for a seat in the Illinois General Assembly in November.

Mayor Gary Grasso was one of four District 3 candidates vying for three seats on the DuPage County Board. With more than 24 percent of the vote, he was one of the three winners of the March 20 primary.

After a third failed attempt at mediation, the teachers of have filed an official notice of intent to strike. The story has sparked quite a bit of discussion on Burr Ridge Patch, as well as a letters to the editor from a brother of a resident of the district.

The school board has voted in favor of withdrawing from the La Grange Area Department of Special Education Cooperative. If the withdrawal goes through services the district provides would be funded directly by the District 86 IDEA dollars that currently go to the cooperative.
