Burr Ridge Mayor Mickey Straub's weekly address from Friday, June 21 can be viewed above.

Some of the highlights from the address:

  • The Neverly Brothers Concert on the Green brought an estimated 1,500 people. "One thing that continues to surprise me is how many people come here from surrounding towns, just for our concerts."
  • A permit is prepared for Chase Bank pending an MWRD permit; a permis has also been issued to Red Mango for a frozen-yogurt store at 503 Village Center Drive.
  • Village resident and famous athlete Bo Jackson held his annual fundraising event at Capri. (Footage of him speaking at the party can be found here.)
  • Women's apparel store J. Jill has expressed interest in returning to Burr Ridge's Village Center. "That is great sign when one of the original stores who pulled out, but who are now returning to return to the ever and increasingly popular Village Center.
  • Straub really enjoyed his Father's Day breakfast.
