Rally for Gower Referendum Draws 150 People

Dozens of people wore green to support a $9 million referendum to improve District 62 facilities.

Dozens of enthusiastic parents, teachers, principals and students hoisting signs, beat drums, flew flags and wore green to show their support of voting yes on a referendum to fund improvements to the Gower School Districts two schools.

It was a cold and windy day, but a crowd of 150 supporters dressed in green to show their support Saturday . Mayor Gary Grasso stopped by to show his support as well.

"The Gower referendum is a win-win for all residents without increasing property taxes.  I urge everyone to vote yes on March 20," said Grasso in a media announcement released the week of the rally.
