Occupation: Retired former director of operations at Flowserve Corp. Since retirement, I've worked as a substitute teacher at Jeans Middle schools in Burr Ridge and currently work part time as a crossing guard at Oak Elementary School in Hinsdale.

Applicable experience qualifying you for the position: Strategic long-term planning along with budget preparation and execution were my strengths at the Flowserve Corp. I successfully managed two of their manufacturing plants and was involved in all areas of envirmental regs, human resource policies along with their compensation programs.

I was elected to the Board of Directors of the Chestnut Hills Home Owners Association and now serve as their president. I was able to work with homeowners, village and Saia Trucking too have a screening 16-fott screening fence constructed. My work as a substitute teacher and crossing guard have also given me unique insight into the daily life of our community. You can Google Steve Less+Burr Ridge to see what I have been doing. 

What is the primary reason you are running for this office?  

Develop long term, 5, 10 and 20 year plans to maintain the high quality, exclusive and private community we all enjoy.

What will be your single most important priority if you get elected?

Make sure the residents of Burr Ridge are the number one consideration in all the decisions of the board of trustees.

What sets you apart from the other candidates?

I look forward to putting in the work and realizing the accomplishments of being a Trustee more so than saying I’m a village trustee. I do not know enough about the other candidates to be more specific, but I feel my background, skill sets and experience serving the Chestnut Hills Home Owners, match the requirements of the job very well.

The unique, exclusive and private country style of living we have.
