What is the primary reason you are running for this office?

I am seeking a position as trustee because I have the experience and knowledge to balance business development while maintaining the village’s well-deserved reputation as a premier residential community. If elected I will represent my neighbors with honesty and integrity and ensure open, respectful, two way communication. I believe it is important to preserve the past while protecting the future. I am fiscally responsible and have the expertise to analyze budgets and look for ways to contain costs while maintaining the high level of services we have all come to expect. I want to work with the village president and board to guarantee the long term financial well-being of the village.

What will be your single most important priority if you get elected?

• Maintain and improve Burr Ridge’s standing as an upscale safe residential community.
• Promote new businesses that serve the needs of our residents and are compatible with the character of our village.
• Ensure fiscal responsibility and stay within a balanced budget.
• Work within our balanced budget to maintain an independent and strong police department.
• Ensure we stay within the scope of the I-55 bridge project and within the dollar amount of the grant we received for the enhancements to the bridge and landscaping.
• Not risk taxpayer money to attract new business by guaranteeing business loans. 

What sets you apart from the other candidates?

My commitment of service to our community in many diverse capacities for over 20 years, have prepared me to serve Burr Ridge as an effective trustee.  

I have the experience and knowledge to balance business development while maintaining the Villages reputation as a premier residential community.  

I am fiscally responsible and have the expertise to analyze budgets and contain costs while maintaining the high level of services we have come to expect.  In all I do I lead with honor and integrity and as trustee I will ensure governmental transparency and make sure our tax dollars are being spent wisely.

What is your favorite thing about Burr Ridge?

I believe it is the residents that make Burr Ridge a very special place.  Over the last 34 years I have volunteered and worked with some of the most passionate and dedicated people who truly care about Burr Ridge. Because of the commitment of our residents to the village and its schools, Burr Ridge is a sought after community to raise a family. It is open honest communication at the board level, along with the involvement of our residents that needs to continue so that future generations will choose Burr Ridge as the place they call home.

What is your least favorite thing about Burr Ridge?

While there isn’t anything about the Village of Burr Ridge I don’t like, I see a great opportunity for better transparency in village decision-making. The residents deserve this and that is why I support the formation of the new ethics committee created by acting village president Robert Sodikoff.
