DuPage County State's Attorney Endorses Jim Durkin

Durkin is running for re-election as state representative of Illinois' 82nd district.

DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin endorsed State Rep. Jim Durkin (R-Western Springs) for re-election as the state representative in Illinois' 82nd district.

“Jim has served his district with a strong focus on public safety, education and transportation while leading the debate in Springfield as a fiscal conservative,” said Berlin. “His background as a former state and county prosecutor is a true asset for his constituents and the state of Illinois.”

“I am honored to have State’s Attorney Berlin’s support and look forward to working with him in the future,” said Durkin.

Berlin’s support comes on the heels of the endorsements from the Downers Grove Republican Township Organization, according to a press release from Durkin's office.

The newly drawn 82nd District includes parts of Western Springs, Lemont, Darien, Burr Ridge, Willowbrook, Woodridge and Homer Glen.

Durkin has represented the 82nd district since 2006 and served as state representative for the 44th district from 1995 to 2002. He is running against newcomer Laura Reigle, who made an unsuccessful run last year for a seat on the Lemont-Bromberek Combined School District 113A Board of Education. Both are Republicans.

Illinois' primary is March 20. See our full voters guide here.
