VIDEO: Police Officers Stake Out Rooftops for Special Olympics

Burr Ridge Police Officer Angie Zucchero is one of dozens of police officers across the Chicago area who are spending a few hours on a Dunkin' Donuts rooftop to raise money for Special Olympics.

As you go to work this morning, you may notice something different on the rooftops of Dunkin' Donuts in the area. That's because dozens of police officers across Chicagoland are donating hours of their time to raise money for Special Olympics.

Officer Angie Zucchero will be on top of the Dunkin Donuts rooftop at 7247 Kingery Highway in Willowbrook from 6 a.m. to noon today. Inside the store, will be a sale on T-Shirts and hats for the organization.

Last year, Patch spent the day scaling rooftops to talk to police officers about the effort. Officer Zucchero and Willowbrook Police Chief Mark Shelton told us why they take part in the event year after year, and Chief Shelton shared about his personal connection to the cause. Check out that video and these items below that will be for sale at the Dunkin' Donuts in Willowbrook. Proceeds from sales will go to benefit Special Olympics.
