Police Say Driver was Drunk and Had Two Children in the Car

The following arrest information was supplied by the Burr Ridge Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A Chicago man was charged with driving under the influence and endangering the life of a child after Burr Ridge police said they found two children in his car Sept. 4. Neither was in a car seat or wearing a seat belt.   

Miguel A. Avila, 44, of Chicago, was stopped at about 1:05 a.m. for disobeying a traffic control device at 91st Street and Route 83, police said.

One child was over age 8 and the other was younger than that, police said.

Driving with Broken Axle

An intoxicated man driving with a broken car axle in Burr Ridge on Sept. 5 was found to have struck a guardrail at the Stevenson Expressway and County Line Road, police said.

Jerrell C. Solberg, 42, 1912 Danube Way, Bolingbrook, was ticketed for driving under the influence after police stopped his 2010 Dodge at Bridewell Drive and Burr Ridge Parkway at about 4:39 a.m. State police investigated the earlier incident with the guardrail.

Romeoville Man Charged with DUI

Ramon Vera, 53, 603 Romeo Rd., Romeoville, was ticketed for driving under the influence and improper lane usage after Burr Ridge police stopped his car at the Stevenson Expressway and LaGrange Road at about 11:47 p.m. Sept. 2.
