Police Blotter: Week of Dec. 13-20

A reckless driver leads officers on a foot chase and thieves target cars parked at Five Seasons Sports Club this week.

On Dec. 14 a car parked at Five Seasons Sports Club, 6901 S. Madison St., was broken into and a car stereo was stolen.

On Dec. 15 another car, also parked at Five Seasons Sports Club, was burglarized and a global positioning system device was stolen.  

On Dec. 17 two employees at a business near 15W100 N. Frontage Road received telephone threats while at work. Police are investigating the issue.

On Dec. 18 Joseph Cleary, 24, of 6130 S. Kensington in Countryside, was stopped by police near the intersection of 91st and Drew St. after driving 85 mph in a 30 mph zone. After being pulled over, Cleary jumped out of his car and attempted to run from the officers. A brief foot chase ensued. Police caught Cleary and charged him with driving more than 40 mph over the speed limit, resisting arrest, unlawful use of a weapon (brass knuckles), reckless conduct, driving with out insurance and failure to signal.  

On Dec. 18 a global positioning system devise was stolen from a car parked at Five Seasons Sports Club.

On Dec. 19 a purse was stolen off a table at Cooper's Hawk, 510 Village Center Drive.

On Dec. 19 a resident of the 16W200 block of 83rd St. reported a 40'' flat screen TV had been stolen from their home after the front door had been broken.
