One Burr Ridge Burglary Suspect Being Held on $200,000 Bail, Second Person of Interest Arrested

Burr Ridge Police are looking at both men as persons of interest in a string of burglaries on Old Mill Lane.

A man arrested in connection is being held on $200,000 bail at the Cook County Jail. A second man, who say is a person of interest in the same burglary has been arrested by Indian Head Park Police.

Claude L. White, 46, of 1741 W. 80th Street in Chicago was charged with one count of residential burglary on Sept. 21, after items matching the description of those stolen in a burglary on Old Mill Lane in Burr Ridge were discovered in a black 2003 Chevy Trailblazer in which he was a passenger.

White was arrested after Indian Head Park Police responded to a call last Wednesday about a suspicious person on Indian Woods Drive in their town.

When they tried to stop the SUV, it attempted to flee, backing into a parked car. The driver ran from the SUV, while White remained inside. Indian Head Park Police called the for assistance in the search for the second suspect. During the investigation, Burr Ridge police say items matching the description of those taken in a burglary on Old Mill Lane earlier that day were in plain view in the SUV.

The Doings reports that White cooperated with authorities to give the general vicinity of where the driver lived in Chicago. According to The Doings, the subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Samuel A. Watson, 33, of 1741 W. 80th Street on Sept. 23, who is now being held in the Cook County Jail on $150,000 bail.

Burr Ridge Deputy Police Chief Tim Vaclav said they are looking at both Watson and White as persons of interest in several burglaries that have taken place on Old Mill Lane recently.

"We are continuing to investigate to see if there can be any connections that can be made to somehow connect them to the previous burglaries," said Vaclav. "Nothing's developed yet."

Vaclav said the police obtained a search warrant for the 2003 Chevy Traillblazer, which , but a search did not recover any additional proceeds.

White is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 6. Watson is due in court on Oct. 17.
