Poop-Filled Sock Used in Attack on Blue Line

Oak Park Police are seeking the public’s help identifying a man who struck a woman with a sock filled with feces as she rode a Blue Line train eastbound near Austin Boulevard at about 4:50 p.m. on Wed., Dec. 12.

The 21-year-old victim told police she had boarded the Blue Line at Oak Park Avenue. As the train arrived at the Austin stop, the suspect struck her with the sock then fled up the exit ramp and continued on foot north on Austin.

Naked Darien Man Continues Streak of Police Run-ins

For a man who apparently enjoys being naked, a move from his lawn into his open garage didn't cut it with police.

A man charged with disorderly conduct for being naked in his open garage this month has been caught before, when he pleaded guilty to smoking outside his Darien home in the nude. 

Scott D. Svencner, 50, of the 1000 block of 79th Street, was charged Dec. 8 with disorderly conduct. Police said he was walking around his open garage naked at 3:15 p.m.

Stolen Santa Claus

A plastic, 3.5-foot tall Santa Claus yard decoration was stolen overnight from a front yard in the 6300 block of Barrett Street, police said. The homeowner told police he believed the theft occurred between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.

The homeowner said the Santa figure had been located in the front yard next to a plastic sleigh, according to reports. It was unscrewed from a stake, with only a lightbulb left behind. 

No other decorations were damaged or stolen.

Vehicle Vanishes, Reappears

A business on the 300 block of Washington Avenue reported that a white 2000 Ford van owned by the company was moved without permission. The vehicle was later located around the corner on the 700 block of East Elm Avenue. The keys were missing but nothing was removed and the van was not damaged.

HINSDALE

Second Santa Stolen

A 4-foot light-up Santa decoration was reported stolen from the front yard of a home in the 0-100 block of Norfolk Avenue at 11:06 a.m. Police said the resident did not file a report but did ask that the department return the Santa if officers come across it.
