Student's Smart Phone Stolen
A Gower Middle School student reported at 1:38 p.m. that his or her iPhone was stolen by a peer, who was located and then returned the phone. Police said the case was turned over to the school resource officer.
Thief Caught, Charged
Nicolas S. Robertson, 31, of the 6400 block of west 63rd Place, Chicago, was charged with theft at 7:27 p.m. after police said he stole $40 from a locker at Life Time Fitness, 601 Burr Ridge Parkway. He was released to appear in court.
SATURDAY, NOV. 17
Purse Stolen from Damaged Car
A complainant reported at 5:33 p.m. that someone stole a purse and debit card from her car while it was unlocked and parked in the 8100 block of Lake Ridge Drive. Police said there was also damage to the car that indicated somone had jumped on it and kicked it. The value of the stolen items and damage is unknown, and the case is under investigation.
FRIDAY, NOV. 16
Unlocked Car Burglarized
A complainant from the 8100 block of Garfield Avenue reported at 1:55 p.m. that a garage door opener was stolen from her car while it was unlocked and parked in her driveway during the overnight hours between Nov. 7 and Nov. 8, police said.
Overseas Identity Theft
A complainant from Puerto Rico reported to the Burr Ridge Police Department at 6:24 p.m. that an employee of a business in the 300 block of Shore Drive was using the complainant's name and social security number. Police said detectives following up with the business were told the employee had been fired recently. The case is under investigation.
Another Gower iPhone Snatched
A Gower Middle School student reported at 10:02 p.m. that his iPhone had been stolen from the school. The phone was located at another student's house after an investigation, and the case was referred to the school resource officer. Police said they don't believe this case is related the similar Gower case detailed above.
WEDNESDAY, NOV. 14
$4,400 Worth of Fraudulent Credit Card Purchases
A complainant from the 8500 block of Walredon Avenue reported at 10:36 a.m. that someone had made 41 fraudulent transactions worth $4,400 on his credit card, which police said was still in his possession.
The case is currently under investigation.
