School Laptops Go Missing, Plastic Discovery: Police Blotter

A Pick-Me-Up

Someone reported a suspicious person at 9:35 p.m. at 83rd and Madison streets. It was a male juvenile waiting to be picked up by his friend, who arrived while police were at the scene. There was no suspicious or criminal activity.

Plastic Discovery

A plastic bag with some unspecified items was found at 7:15 a.m. in the parking lot of a local business on the 600 block of Burr Ridge Parkway. There was no ID with the items, which were placed into evidence should anyone claim them.

School Laptops Lost

Gower School District 62 at 9:15 a.m. reported over 100 electronic items, mostly laptops, missing from Gower Middle School on the 7900 block of South Madison Street. The date or dates when the items were last seen or used was not immediately available. As of May 2, the estimated value of the missing electronics is at least $1,000, police said. The incident is still under investigation.
