DuPage DUI Arrests, Sept. 15 Edition

DOWNERS GROVE

Aug. 30: Roy L. Weil, of the 1300 block of Creighton, Naperville, was arrested at 1:02 a.m. at 41st and Saratoga. Weil was charged with DUI alcohol, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and no headlamps. His gray Honda Ridgeline was towed from the scene to an impound lot, according to a police report. He was released on an I-bond and has an Oct. 2 court date in Wheaton.

ELMHURST

Sept. 8: Joseph Smoen, 63, of the 1800 block of North 18th, Melrose Park, was arrested and charged with DUI and driving without insurance after police pulled over his black Toyota Camry after it struck a median at York and Lake at 12:31 a.m. He was released on bond.

Sept. 5: George Taurus, 33, of the 5400 block Cortez, Chicago, was arrested and charged with DUI, parking in the roadway and driving without insurance after police said his silver Jeep Liberty was found parked in the roadway at North and Melrose at 2:32 a.m. He was released on bond.

Sept. 4: Benjamin C. Pikul, 25, of the 1700 block of Boulder Drive, Darien, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving without insurance after police pulled over his black Honda Accord for failure to yield to an emergency vehicle at Roosevelt and Route 83 at 3:54 a.m. He was released on bond.

LISLE

Sept. 7: Christopher G. Schnoebelen, 32, of the 3300 block of Stillwell Court, Woodridge, was charged with the following:

  • Driving under the influence of alcohol
  • Felony aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude a peace officer
  • Operation of an uninsured motor vehicle
  • Speeding
  • Disobeying a traffic control signal (stop sign)

Schnoebelen was arrested at 2:14 a.m. at Maple Avenue and I-355 as a result of a traffic stop conducted by a Lisle police officer. He was processed according to policy, then transported to the DuPage County Jail to await a bond hearing and later released.

Sept. 2: Kishore Gopal, 55, of the 5100 block of Ashley Circle, Lisle, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and driving under the influence of alcohol. Gopal was arrested at 1:03 p.m. at Ogden and Yackley avenues as a result of an accident investigation conducted by a Lisle police officer. Gopal was also charged with driving too fast for conditions and no valid insurance, according to police.

Aug. 22: Daniel R. White, 27, of the 6400 block of Parksleg Court, Lisle, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. White was arrested at 5:35 a.m. at College Road and Abbeywood Drive as a result of an accident investigation conducted by a Lisle police officer. White was also charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and no valid insurance.

Aug. 11: Ahmet Sezer, 52, of the 9900 block of West 58th Street, Countryside, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. Sezer was arrested at 1:16 a.m. at Maple and Walnut avenues as a result of a traffic stop conducted by a Lisle police officer.

Aug. 8: Nicholas P. Maniates, 66, of the 1000 block of Middleton Place, Lisle, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. Maniates was arrested at 7:30 p.m. on the 1000 block of Ogden Avenue as a result of an accident investigated by a Lisle police officer. Maniates was also cited for improper lane usage, according to police.

WHEATON

Aug. 11:

  • Police charged Thomas G. Kent, 46, of the 300 block of Hillside Avenue, Elmhurst, with driving under the influence of alcohol and possession of drug paraphernalia. Kent was driving a black 2012 Volkswagen Jetta at 1:44 a.m. at Park and Butterfield Road when police initiated a traffic stop. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.
  • Police charged Richandra J. Manning, 32, of the 2400 block of Frost Drive, Aurora, with driving under the influence of alcohol. Manning was driving a red 2006 Toyota Avalon at 12:48 a.m. at County Farm and Roosevelt roads when police initiated a traffic stop. Manning was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.

Aug. 10: Police charged Karey Ann Nicolini, 42, of the 27W100 block of Cooley, Winfield, with driving under the influence of alcohol. Nicolini was driving a black 2001 Ford Taurus at 11:43 p.m. on the 300 block of West Geneva when police initiated a traffic stop. She was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released early the next morning.

Aug. 6: Police charged Wesley L. Becker, 59, of the 200 block of South Erie Street, Wheaton, with driving under the influence of alcohol. Becker was driving a black 2007 Ford Edge at 12:35 a.m. at Gary and Geneva when police initiated a traffic stop. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.

Aug. 5: Police charged Kelly J. Browne, 32, of the 1900 block of West Belmont Avenue, Chicago, with driving under the influence of alcohol. Browne was driving a gray 2012 Toyota Prius at 10:25 p.m. at Roosevelt Road and Hale when police initiated a traffic stop. She was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that day.

Aug. 4: Police charged Joshua J. Walther, 26, of the 1N300 block of Purnell Street, Carol Stream, with driving under the influence of alcohol. Walther was driving a green 1999 Ford Explorer at 1:40 a.m. at Fanchon and Geneva when police initiated a traffic stop. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.

Aug. 3:

  • Police charged Mayra Alejandra Reyes-Herrera, 23, of the first block of Armitage Avenue, Glendale Heights, with the following:
  • Driving under the influence of alcohol
  • No driver's license
  • Illegal transportation of alcoholic liquor

Reyes-Herrera was driving a silver or aluminum 2003 GMC Envoy at 1:53 a.m. at Geneva Road and Main Street when police initiated a traffic stop. She was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that day.

  • Police charged Paige K. Fijolik, 22, of the 200 block of Mantle Lane, Carol Stream, with driving under the influence of alcohol. Fijolik was driving a black 1998 Chevy Silverado at 1:41 a.m. at Butterfield and Orchard roads when police initiated a traffic stop. She was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.

Aug. 2: Police charged Steven D. Chapman, 26, of the 2200 block of Petworth Court, Naperville, with driving under the influence of alcohol. Chapman was driving a white 2004 Chevy Malibu at 12:03 a.m. at Butterfield and Orchard roads when police initiated a traffic stop. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.

July 28: Police charged Barbara J. Relation, 50, of the 100 block of Lalonde, Addison, with driving under the influence of alcohol. Relation was driving a red 2006 Toyota Corolla at 1:15 a.m. at Washington and Roosevelt Road when police initiated a traffic stop. She was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.

WOODRIDGE

Aug. 24:

  • Daniella Bustos, 26, of the 13000 block of Blackstone Drive in Plainfield, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding following a traffic stop on Route 53 at Fountain Drive at 1:37 a.m.
  • Christopher Eiers, 47, of the 9600 block of Witham Lane in Woodridge, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop at 12:25 a.m. near Egerton and Woodward. Eiers was also charged with resisting an officer and driving without headlights.
