Elm School was No. 27 on the Sun-Times' annual rankings of Chicago-area elementary schools, and Gower Middle School was No. 29 on the middle school rankings.

Elm School in Burr Ridge is No. 27 on the Chicago Sun-Times' rankings of the 50 best elementary schools in the Chicago area, and Gower Middle School was No. 29 on the newspaper's middle school rankings.

The Sun-Times says rankings are based on 2012 reading and math ISAT and PSAE results of students at each school, measured against a state average.
