Gastroenterologist Brings Expert to Loyola Center for Health at Burr Ridge

Omar Khan, MD, brings his expertise in gastroenterology to Loyola University Health System. In addition, he is an assistant professor in the Division of Gastroenterology and Nutrition at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine.

Dr. Khan treats conditions including inflammatory bowel disease (ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease), hereditary gastrointestinal cancer syndromes such as Lynch syndrome/HNPCC and familia adenomatous polyposis, and general gastroenterology conditions.

In addition to his medical interests he is active in community service having been chair of an organization that helps formerly homeless older adults. He also was part of a medical mobile van team that brought healthcare to Boston’s homeless. He currently is on the Medical Advisory Committee for the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America Illinois Chapter.

Khan earned his medical degree from Boston University in a combined BA/MD program. He completed a residency at University of California at San Francisco in internal medicine. His fellowship in gastroenterology was completed at University of Chicago where he also served as chief fellow.

Dr. Omar Khan sees patients at Loyola’s main medical campus in Maywood as well as at the Loyola Center for Health at Burr Ridge, 6800 N. Frontage Road.
