Your Guide To Celebrating The Holidays

Visits With Santa – Santa Claus will be at Barbara's Bookstore, 810 Village Center Dr., to hear what's on your wish list. Letters to Santa will also be accepted at Barbara's through Christmas Eve. See Santa Dec. 5 from 3-5 p.m., Dec. 11 from 6-8 p.m., and Dec. 18 from 3-5 p.m. Event is free.

Holiday Shopping Downtown – Take a trip downtown to the Magnificent Mile with the Pleasant Dale Park District for a day of shopping on Tuesday, Dec. 7. Meet at the Walker Recreational Center at 9 a.m. The park district will drop you off at Water Tower Place and let you shop the rest of the day. Shuttle will leave the Water Tower at 4 p.m. Costs $15 for residents, $8 for nonresidents. More info here. 

Willowbrook - Burr Ridge Chamber of Commerce Holiday Party – Join the Willbowbrook-Burr Ridge Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday, Dec. 8 at the Marriott Burr Ridge for a festive holiday dinner and dance. Hors d'oeuvres begin at 6 p.m. and dinner starts at 7 p.m. Costs $35 per person. For more info, click here.

Holiday Stroll – Enjoy horse-drawn sleigh rides, mulled wine, face painting, Santa and more at the Holiday Stroll at the Burr Ridge Village Center on Saturday, Dec. 11 from 4-8 p.m. More info on the event here.

Gingerbread Houses – Create a gingerbread house to take home at this family event on Saturday, Dec. 11 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Burr Ridge Park District. Chef Laura Valcour will be there to show you how to make mini-sleighs, mailboxes, fences and snowmen. Supplies will be provided. Costs $30. 

Breakfast With Santa – Eat breakfast with Santa at the Flagg Creek Golf Course on Dec. 11 and 12 at 10 a.m. Prices vary. For more information, click here.

Holiday Music Concert – Get in the holiday spirit with Hinsdale South High School. The music department will perform its holiday concert on Dec. 15 at 7:30 p.m. in the gymnasium.
