Viewfinder: Fred Astaire Dancers Celebrate Mardi Gras in Burr Ridge
Annual dance party at studio draws a crowd.
To celebrate Mardi Gras, Fred Astaire Dance hosts an annual dance party. The studio has more informal group lessons with party themes every Friday, but the Mardi Gras night has always been the most popular and highest profile of them all.
About 60 of the studio’s 200 students trekked through the rainy night last Friday to twist and turn the night away. The night was filled with food, drink and a whole lot of costumes on the dance floor.
Toward night’s end, the six dance instructors performed a variety of routines, including an excerpt from the Rocky Horror Picture Show.
