High of 89 Expected, IHSA State Tennis Tourney Starts Today

1. Thursday is the first day of the IHSA State Tennis Tournament in the Northwest Suburbs. Qualifiers from include individuals Martin Joyce (playing at Rolling Meadows) and Sam Bloom (playing at Schaumburg), and the pairs of Alex Hagermoser/Peter Heneghan (playing at Wheeling) and Chase Hamilton/Michael Lorenzini (playing at Buffalo Grove).

2. Several teachers are retiring from and this year. The teachers have a combined 316 years of service between them. .

The Burr Ridge Leads Club—a meetup group that gets together to exchange referrals is meeting this morning at Juicy-O in Willowbrook at 7:30 a.m. According to the group's description on meetup.com, there's only one business per category, so there's no competition for leads. The group is currently looking for more members.

5. A sunny day is on tap today with a high near 89, according to the National Weather Service. It'll be breezy, with a south wind moving at 10 to 15 mph, increasing to between 20 and 25 mph. Winds gusts could get as high as 45 mph. Tonight we've got a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 1 a.m. It'll still be breezy with a low around 62 and winds that could gust as high as 40 mph.
