Fundraiser for Kelli O'Laughlin Tonight

A fundraiser will be held tonight at in La Grange Park to raise money for the Kelli Joy O'Laughlin Memorial Fund.

Forty-six area businesses have donated items that will be raffled off to raise money for the fund that has been set up in her memory.

"Everybody that we've talked to about participating with a donation has been happy and eager to be a part of the event," said Erica Alletto, one of the coordinators for the fundraiser.

Alletto's brother Johnny and her husband Frank, Lyons Township High School graduates and members of the Acoustic-rock cover band Jank, were scheduled to play at Mattone Wednesday night and decided to turn the event into a fundraiser to benefit the O'Laughlin family. Alletto said that even though she does not know the O'Laughlin family personally, she wanted to do something for them.

"Even though you may not know the family personally, you're so moved by this, because it's so horrific, it touches every single person," said Alletto. "People would like to do something and would like to help, but they don't know how, and this gives them a how."

The suggested minimum donation for entrance to Wednesday night's event is $5. Raffle tickets will be sold one for $5, five for $20 and 15 for $50.

Small businesses as well as larger ones from Burr Ridge, La Grange and Western Springs have donated raffle items to the event. The money raised from the raffle will go directly to Kelli Joy O'Laughlin Memorial Fund. Below is a list of raffle items that have been contributed by businesses so far:
