Dog Lost Since Monday Last Seen in Burr Ridge

Mitch is a 45-pound border collie mix whose owners last caught up with him in Harvester Park.

An area resident is asking that Patch readers keep their eye out for his lost dog.

A border collie mix named Mitch slipped out of his collar during a walk and ran away from his owners in Downers Grove on Monday and was last scene in Burr Ridge's Harvester Park on Tuesday evening, his owner Szymon Karbowski said in an email to Patch.

"We have been looking everywhere for the past couple days and were unable to find him," Karbowski wrote. "He is microchipped but doesn't have a collar on."

Mitch is a 1-year-old, 40-pound pup with a black and brown coat and white paws. His owners closed in on him at one point Monday and saw him get hit by a car on Clarendon Hills Road in Willowbrook before running off again.

When he was spotted in Harvester Park, he was limping.

See the Lost Dogs Illinois post regarding Mitch above.

Mitch was adopted only a couple of weeks ago.

"He is shy and timid but not aggressive at all," Karbowski wrote. "He just had a tough life."
