Cooking Class at Topaz Tomorrow

Foodies, aspiring chefs and those who just want to sharpen their skills in the kitchen will have the opportunity to learn what it takes from a real chef, Thursday morning.

, in 's Village Center, is offering a special farmers market cooking class. Students, who sign up for the course, will meet at 11 a.m., Thursday, when will lead them on a walking tour and shopping trip through the Burr Ridge Market on the Green.

The group will return to Topaz with fresh produce from the farmers market, which will be used to prepare a three-course lunch. At the restaurant, the chef will provide instructions, cooking tips, a cooking demonstration, and a rare chance to watch and interact with the chef during the process of preparing the meal.

The cost for the class is $45 a person, and includes lunch with a wine pairing. Reservations are required for this event, and those interested in participating can call (630) 654-1616. This is the first of two classes that will be offered this summer. The next class will take place on on August 23.
