PHOTOS: Families Ring In the Holidays at the Burr Ridge Jingle Mingle

Hundreds took part in horse-drawn carriage rides, train rides and took pictures with Santa at the annual event, which featured the lighting of the village's holiday tree.

Hundreds of families came to the Burr Ridge Village Center to celebrate the holiday season at the village's annual Jingle Mingle Saturday.

Complimentary horse-drawn carriage rides and train rides left every 15 minutes throughout the night as kids took part in activities such as Santa's Workshop, and parents got some holiday shopping done.

Parents and children lined up for baked goods from It Tastes Like Love, a new small business in Burr Ridge and Pecan and Charlie's, a mobile cupcake truck that recently expanded to serve the Chicago suburbs.

Members of the Junior Varsity cheerleading and Gymnastics teams, choir, Girl Scout Troop 51241 and Boy Scout Pack 156-Den 6 led the parade. Santa arrived to the event on a fire engine, next to Mayor Gary Grasso.

The parade culminated with the tree lighting ceremony at 6:15 p.m. After the ceremony, children had their photos taken with Santa and gathered for story time at .
