Registration Underway for ‘Fit Kids’ at Five Seasons Burr Ridge

As the next academic school year begins, Five Seasons Family Sports Club in Burr Ridge is offering an education for children on a topic with lifelong implications: fitness.

“Fit Kids,” a six-week program that meets once a week, begins on Sept. 3 and runs until Oct. 10. Children from 5 to 7 years old will meet at the club, 6901 S. Madison, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays, while those who are 8 to 12 years old will meet Thursdays from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The sessions focus on cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, muscle coordination, and nutrition.

“Fit Kids is a great start in developing sound fitness and exercise principles, and gets children active and educated about the different elements that create a healthy lifestyle,” said Erik Knowles, Five Seasons’ Director of Fitness. “All exercises and activities are interactive game-based and designed to capture the attention of youngsters.”

Parent and child orientation is 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23 and registration deadline is Aug. 30. Attendance is highly recommended, though not mandatory to enroll in the program.

The rate for members is $119; for non-members, who need to register as a Five Seasons guest, it is $179.
