Dr. Francis Rottier Elected President of Burr Ridge-based Illinois Podiatric Medical Association

Loyola University Medical Center podiatrist Francis J. Rottier, DPM, FACFAS, FASPS, is the new president of the Burr Ridge-based Illinois Podiatric Medical Association.

The nonprofit organization represents most doctors of podiatric medicine in Illinois. It is committed to promoting quality podiatric medical practice and ethics; enhancing public awareness about foot and ankle health; ensuring the future development of the profession of podiatric medicine; and ensuring the continued growth of the association and promoting the welfare of its members.

As president, one of Rottier’s top goals is to restore full podiatric services to Medicaid patients in Illinois. The state recently limited such services to children and adults with diabetes. Currently excluded are non-diabetic adults who need treatments for such common conditions as plantar fasciitis (heel pain), bunions, circulatory problems and ingrown toenail infections. “We are fighting for the citizens of Illinois to have full access to foot and ankle care,” Rottier said.
