Viewfinder: Magicians in Training

A small group of five- to 10-year-olds joined Sara Kash from the Magic of Gary Kantor for a magic class Wednesday night at the Burr Ridge Park District.

The pupils were eager to learn, but Kash reminded them of three things: to practice their tricks early and often, to always have fun when doing magic and most importantly, to never reveal how the tricks work.

After learning each trick, the group practiced several times in order to build confidence. And at the end of the class, parents were invited in to watch a performance of each trick.

Each student was given a kit to take home that contained materials needed to perform the magic tricks. Another class will be held on March 22 and is open for registration.
