Man Flees Police After Spare Tires Stolen: Police Blotter

TUESDAY, NOV. 13
$400 in Hubcaps Taken
It was reported at 6:08 p.m. that someone had removed all four hubcaps from an SUV parked in a lot in the 1300 block of Burr Ridge Parkway sometime that day.
Police said each hubcap was worth approximately $100.
MONDAY, NOV. 12
Driver Flees Police After Theft
A man refused to stop for police after fleeing the scene of an apparent theft in a parking lot near the intersection of County Line Road and Interstate 55.
Police said an officer had spotted a suspicious man who appeared to be committing a theft in the parking lot at around 11:59 p.m. As the officer approached, the man got into a Ford pickup truck and drove off, refusing to stop for the officer as he exited onto I-55. Police said the officer chose not to pursue the driver in the interest of safety, and returned to the parking lot to find that two spare tires worth a combined $300 were missing from two parked vans.
An investigation is pending. Police say it is not related to another recent incident where a driver fled from police in the same area.
FRIDAY, NOV. 9
Headlights Stolen from Trucks
It was reported at 10:04 a.m. that approximately $900 in headlights were stolen from three trucks parked in a lot in the 16W0-100 block of 79th Street overnight between Nov. 8 and Nov. 9. An investigation is pending.
WEDNESDAY, NOV. 7
Identity Theft Reported
A complainant from the 15W100 block of south Frontage Road reported at 5:11 p.m. numerous unauthorized charges on his debit card totaling $1,100. Police said an investigation is pending.
