Hundreds in Cash Stolen from Purse, False Tax Return Filed: Police Blotter

Cash Stolen
A thief took between $500 and $600 from a woman's purse after she left it on a chair at Subway, 112 Burr Ridge Pkwy, around 5:13 p.m.
SATURDAY, SEPT. 8
Tax Fraud Discovered
A complainant from the 0-100 block of Oak Creek Drive reported at 11:52 a.m. that personal information had been stolen from the complainant's business and that the person's tax refund had been paid to someone else.
Police said the case is pending investigation. No dollar amount on the tax refund was provided.
THURSDAY, SEPT. 6
Credit Card Fraud
A complainant from the 10 block of Old Mill Lane reported at 11:42 a.m. that several unauthorized purchases were made using his Master Card information.
Police said the purchases took place over a three-month period. The case is pending investigation.
