Hit and Run Reported

Police reported that a car driving on the shoulder on Route 83 near Central Avenue was struck at 8:47 a.m. by a car entering the right turn lane. The driver of the car that was struck, police said, did not want to report the incident and left the scene of the accident. 

SATURDAY, DEC. 1

Candy Cane Cord Cut

A resident from the 100 block of Carriage Way Drive reported at 8:35 a.m. that someone had cut the electric wires to a Christmas candy cane decoration in the complainant's yard. 

Dead Deer Hung in Front-Yard Tree

A complainant reported at 2:03 p.m. that a neighbor who lives near the intersection of 75th Street and Forest Hill Road had two deer carcasses hanging in a tree in his front yard, police said. 

"They were in the front yard, visible to the neighbors who were a little alarmed at the sight," Deputy Chief Tim Vaclav said in an email.  

The resident, a hunter, took down the caracasses voluntarily, police said, and no citations were written.
