Letter to the Editor: Resident Thanks Mayor, Village for Resolving Saia Dispute

A Burr Ridge woman sent this letter to the Village of Burr Ridge thanking them for their help in resolving the 10 month dispute between Saia Motor and Freight and neighboring residents.

Dear Editor,

I want to personally thank Mayor Gary Grasso for all of the time and effort put forth on the behalf of the residents of Chestnut Hills and our neighbors regarding the Saia Trucking issue. The countless hours of involvement and the frustrations of all involved is appreciated more than words can express.

With the outcome of the meeting this evening, I believe everyone involved walked away with a sense of both celebration and relief. Although knowing well that the ink is not on the paper, we seem to have finally reached an agreement that all parties can live with.

I would like to also thank Steve Stricker for being on the receiving end of the many phone calls I made, sometimes at 5 a.m. angry on a Sunday morning. He has always responded quickly and graciously answered my questions.

To Bob Grela, for listening to my endless ranting via email after every meeting and taking the time to call and calm me down with his voice of reason and compassion.

And finally to Steve Less. Without his tireless efforts and endless hours of research, we would not be where we are today.

Thank you again for all of your help and support.

Sincerely,

Sharon Moore
Chestnut Hills resident
Burr Ridge
