The Burr Ridge Park District is hosting an Elvis-themed lunch and the La Grange Theater is raising money to transport veterans to Washington, DC.

Celebrate Elvis’s belated birthday at the Burr Ridge Park District Friday at noon. The menu includes Love Me Tender meatloaf, Teddy Bear taters and gravy, Jailhouse green beans, King’s cornbread and Hunk-a-Hunk-a dessert. Costs $12. Call 630-920-1969.

LT Winter Garage Sale
Support the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life and come out to LT’s Winter Garage Sale. Doors will be open from 1-4 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Held at LT’s South Campus, 4900 Gilbert Ave.
Showing of “The Conscientious Objector”
Filmmaker Terry Benedict will present the documentary film “The Conscientious Objector” on Saturday at 7 p.m. The movie tells the story of Desmond Doss, a Seventh Day Adventist who received the Congressional Medal of Honor for refusing to bear arms. See a movie of your choice at the La Grange Theater on Sunday and support Honor Flight, a nonprofit that transports veterans to Washington, DC. Tickets cost $6 and movies include "The Social Network," "Tangled," "Burlesque," "Unstoppable" and more. The theater is located at 80 S. La Grange Rd.
