Gas Prices Fall as Memorial Day Nears, Plus This Week's Cheapest Gas
Drivers are getting a little relief at the pump as Memorial Day weekend approaches.
Drivers are getting a little break at the pump this week as national gas prices have fallen a few cents.
Chicago saw average gas prices go down 14 cents to $4.54 since last week, according to AAA Fuel Price Finder. Here in the Burr Ridge area, a gallon of regular averages in at about $4.22 – that’s five cents cheaper than last week, according to AAA.
Heading into Memorial Day, Fox Chicago reported Thursday that gas prices could even drop below $4 by the weekend.
While seeing any drop in prices is uplifting, paying anything near $4 is a far cry from Burr Ridge gas prices at this time last year, which AAA says came in at $2.98.
