Free Admission Sunday at Brookfield Zoo

The FREEze Day event features a dog-sledding demonstration, K-9 comfort dogs who helped the Newtown, CT, community and a bald eagle zoo chat.

It might be cold out, but Brookfield Zoo is putting the "free" in freezing this weekend.

There's free admission from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. this Sunday, Feb. 24, for the zoo's "FREEze Day."

Love the zoo? Then write a review!

The Green Valley Dog Drivers and their four-legged friends will demonstrate dog-sledding on the zoo's west mall. Members of the Lemont-based dog-sledding organization will have games and discussions the entire day.

Golden retrievers are some of the happiest dogs you'll meet, and at the FREEze Day you can meet some of the most comforting dogs, too. There will be K-9 comfort dogs from Addison on hand, including those that supported communities following Hurricane Sandy and the Newtown, CT, shooting tragedy.

There's also a bald eagle zoo chat at 11 a.m.
